The Smithy Cottage

I would not advise anybody to stay at this cottage if you are wanting to spend family time. I booked for a family of 6 to go over the Christmas period, it cost �£120 per night (yes thats right �£120) in total �£360 and we only stayed one night !! and the manager refused to give us a refund. The living room only sat 3 people, it had a big double bed in it and a 2 seater sofa and one chair. When I asked were are we expected to sit after xmas lunch the manager replied "sit on the bed". Everything in the cottage was really old and worn - you would think for �£120 per night they could afford to update the place, the windows had one curtain up that wasnt lined, the bedding was really cheap looking and you could feel the springs in the matress. This cottage is falsely advertised, it totally ruined my childrens Christmas we had to travel back home on Christmas Day and cook at home as this place is not suitable. I also remember one of the bedrooms had a bad smell of fish, I spoke to one of the workers about this and he just agreed that there was a smell of fish. I would really advise anyone to check this place out before renting it because my family were totally dissatisfied with the whole experience and the terrible customer service.
